Texas remains ranked No. 3 in both major polls

Texas was ranked No. 3 in the latest AP and Coaches Polls. The Longhorns once again were behind No. 1 Oregon and No. 2 Ohio State in both polls.

Texas defeated Kentucky 31-14 on Saturday and was one of a select few SEC teams that avoided a major upset. The Longhorns’ upcoming opponent, the Texas A&M Aggies, were ranked No. 20 after a loss at Auburn. This will be the first time the Lone Star Showdown features two ranked teams since 2004.

Other SEC teams in the AP poll included No. 6 Georgia, No. 7 Tennessee, No. 13 Alabama, No. 15 Ole Miss, No. 16 South Carolina, No. 20 Texas A&M, and No. 24 Missouri.

The Longhorns were ranked No. 3 in the most recent Coaches Poll. SEC teams in the Coaches Poll top 25 included No. 6 Georgia, No. 8 Tennessee, No. 13 Alabama, No. 14 South Carolina, No. 16 Ole Miss, No. 19 Texas A&M, and No. 24 Missouri.

Texas will play Texas A&M on Saturday in Kyle Field.
