Texas social media revealed the rings on Wednesday, with a diamond-saturated face behind a burnt orange Longhorn logo as the main feature.
The face features a replica of the Big 12 Championship trophy surrounded by the words Big 12 Champions, along with four burnt orange-colored gems. The trophy has a gold shade to it, as does the surrounding words, but the rest of the face has nothing but white diamonds.
One side of the ring features the numbers 2023 along with the College Football Playoff logo. As a result of their Big 12 title and 12-1 record during the regular season, the Longhorns were added to the field of the final scheduled four-team CFP as a No. 3 seed. The Longhorns lost to national runner-up Washington in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
On the opposite side is the player’s name, a replica of the Longhorn football helmet, plus the player’s number. Each side has the markings of a football field in the background.

The underside has the letters “JWM,” short for John Wick Mentality.
“I think there’s always a target on our back, but there’s also a target on the opponents we’re playing,” Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers said at 2023 Big 12 Media Days. “We put a target on them. It’s kind of like John Wick. He’s being hunted, but at the same time he’s hunting those guys as well.”
Said Steve Sarkisian in July, “I think this team is on a mission. They’ve taken this mindset of being on a mission. They’ve kind of adopted the John Wick mentality. I know Quinn has touched on and Jordan (Whittington) has touched on that they’ve really focused. And I think that’s probably the thing. They want to go do this, they want to be focused on the task at hand.”
Under the crown are the letters “FAFO,” short for “F**K Around and Find Out,” a mantra the team used throughout the season. An inscription with the UT Tower surrounded by the numbers 49-21, the final score of the Longhorns’ win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the championship game, is under FAFO.

The Longhorns won Big 12 Championships in 1996, 2005, 2009, and 2023. Texas will join the Southeastern Conference and attempt to earn new rings with new letters starting on July 1.
