Texas rises to No. 4 in the latest AP poll after win at Alabama, first time in top five since 2010
The previously No. 11 Longhorns topped No. 3 Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and as a result moved up to the No. 4 spot in the latest AP Poll released on Sunday, September 10.

Texas enters the top five of the AP poll for the first time since the September 5, 2010 poll following a 2-0 start to the season.
The Longhorns’ opponent, Alabama, drops from the No. 3 spot to the No. 10 spot in the poll.
Other Big 12 teams to make the poll include No. 15 Kansas State and No. 19 Oklahoma. Kansas, Cincinnati, TCU, and Oklahoma State received votes, as did Texas’ upcoming opponent in Wyoming.

Steve Sarkisian’s team was the only program from the state of Texas to be ranked in the top 25.
The Longhorns carry their new ranking into Saturday’s contest versus the Cowboys. Craig Bohl’s team is currently 2-0 with wins versus Texas Tech and Portland State.
Texas and Wyoming last played in 2012, a game UT won 37-17 in Austin.. The Longhorns lead the all-time series 5-0.
