In his lone season at Texas, Mukuba combined for 69 tackles, four for loss, while defending seven passes and tying the SEC lead for five interceptions. Few players in the country saw their draft stock increase more than the ball-hawking safety in the back half of the seasons, where he recorded nine tackles and a forced fumble against Georgia in the SEC Championship game.
Continuing on his hot streak, Mukuba allowed zero receptions against his former team, Clemson, and secured the game winning interception against Arizona State in overtime of the Peach Bowl. Mukuba, alongside fellow Austinites Jahdae Barron and Michael Taaffe, led one of the fiercest defensive back rooms in the nation in 2025, allowing the fewest passing touchdowns per game and sitting within the top-10 among passing yards allowed per game.
Mukuba was a product of Lyndon B. Johnson High School in Austin, earning four stars as a recruit and committing to play for Dabo Swinney at Clemson. The safety made an instant impact, combining for 47 tackles as a starter in South Carolina and earning the ACC freshman of the year award. Mukuba’s career plateaued, however, in his next two seasons, recording just one interception in his next two seasons after earning freshman All-American honors.
