Texas signee Tre Johnson named a McDonald's All-American

2024 Link Academy G Tre Johnson, a Texas signee and the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2024 class, was named a McDonald’s All-American on Tuesday. Johnson will be the 23rd player in UT history to play in the game.

The McDonald’s All-American Boys Game will be played a the Toyota Center in Houston on April 2 and air on ESPN.

The Longhorns have also had signees CJ Miles and Ron Holland participate in the game, but they elected to turn professional instead of continue their career at Texas.

Johnson is a 6-foot-6, 190-pound guard originally from the Dallas area. He led Richardson (Texas) Lake Highlands to the 2023 UIL 6A State Championship. During his junior season with Lake Highlands, a year where the Wildcats went 34-3 with only one loss to an in-state team, Johnson averaged 21.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He was MaxPreps’ national junior of the year and Mr. Basketball in the state of Texas.

He elected to play his senior season at Link Academy in Missouri.
