The Texas Longhorns received another scholarship addition to their 2024-25 roster on Monday in the form of Oak Hill Academy power forward Jamie Vinson. Vinson, a one-time Vanderbilt signee, visited South Carolina and Kentucky and had other power conference schools show interest during his recruitment.

Vinson, 6-foot-10 and over 200 pounds, is originally from the Austin area but attended Oak Hill, a basketball powerhouse in Mouth of Wilson, Va. He was signed to Vanderbilt but was released from his letter of intent when Jerry Stackhouse was let go. He joins former Commodores signee Malik Presley on Texas’ 2024-25 roster.

Vinson was ranked as the No. 206 overall prospect, the No. 45 power forward, and the No. 8 player in Virginia according to the On3 Industry Ranking. On3 ranks Vinson as the No. 49 power forward and the No. 10 player in Virginia.
