Texas tight end Jahleel Billingsley no longer with the program
Jahleel Billingsley’s tenure in Austin was short lived.
The Chicago (Ill.) Phillips Academy product and former four-star tight end prospect, who transferred to Texas from Alabama last off-season, is no longer with the program, sources tell Inside Texas.

After sitting the first six games of 2022 due to suspension, the 6-foot-4, 230-pound tight end appeared in four games for Longhorns, with 38 yards receiving on six catches in limited action.

Billingsley was named 2022 second-team All-Big 12 Preseason selection by Athlon Sports.
Billingsley appeared in 36 games, including five starts, and caught 37 passes for 559 yards and six touchdowns for Alabama. During the 2020 national championship run by Alabama, Steve Sarkisian was familiar with Billingsley as he was serving as the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator. He added six catches for 66 yards and a touchdown during that year’s College Football Playoff for Alabama.
He was named first-team 6A All-State by the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association in 2018 and helped lead Phillips Academy to the Class 5A state championship as a junior in 2017 and the Class 6A state quarterfinals as a senior in 2018.
