No matter who is coaching the Texas Longhorns in 2025-26, we know that several Longhorns will not be on the roster after exhausting their eligibility.

But what does the 2025-26 roster picture look like, especially with the House v. NCAA case settlement coming down the pike?

NBA Bound (1)

G Tre Johnson

  • The SEC Freshman of the Year, a second-team All-SEC selection, and the SEC’s leading scorer at 19.8 points per game, Johnson has made it very clear his stop in Austin would last for one season.
  • Johnson is a consensus top-10 prospect in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Out of eligibility (6)

G Julian Larry

  • The Indiana State transfer averaged 4.7 points and 3.0 assists in 20.4 minutes per game as the backup point guard.

G Tramon Mark

  • The primary ball-handler during Texas’ late season games, Mark averaged 10.4 points in 26.6 minutes per game.

F Ze’Rik Onyema

  • The Longhorns’ backup big played in every game in 2025-26, averaging 3.2 points in just over 10 minutes per contest

F Kadin Shedrick

  • Shedrick was the Longhorns’ primary big man and posted 8.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game.

F Jayson Kent

  • Another Indiana State transfer, Kent averaged 5.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per contest.

F Arthur Kaluma

  • Texas’ leading rebounder, Kaluma averaged 12.4 points and 7.6 boards in just under 30 minutes per game.

Eligibility remaining, but decisions ahead (9)

The Division I men’s basketball transfer portal opens on March 24 and closes on April 22. A change at head coach also creates a 30-day window from the date of dismissal.

F Cole Bott

  • Walk-on who appeared in 17 games during his Texas career
  • Bott appears to have one more year of eligibility but participated in senior day festivities and has already obtained a bachelor’s degree in finance.

G Jordan Pope

  • Pope has one year of eligibility remaining after spending two years at Oregon State.
  • Pope averaged 11.2 points in 25.8 minutes per game in 2024-25.

G Chendall Weaver

  • Weaver has one year of eligibility remaining. If he returns, it would be his third season at Texas.
  • Weaver, who played in only 19 games this year, averaged 6.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 20 minutes per game

F Devon Pryor

  • Pryor has two years of eligibility remaining.
  • Pryor appeared in 23 games and started two. He averaged 3.2 points in 12.1 minutes per game.

F Nic Codie

  • Codie has three years of eligibility remaining.
  • Codie appeared in 19 games in 2025-26.

F Jamie Vinson

  • Vinson has three years of eligibility remaining.
  • Vinson appeared in nine games in 2025-26.

G Malik Presley

  • A transfer from Vanderbilt, Presley did not play in 2024-25 and redshirted. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

F Preston Clark

  • A walk-on from Austin (Texas) Westlake, Clark has two years of eligibility remaining.

F Anthon McDermott

  • A guard from Hallsville (Texas), McDermott redshirted in 2024-25 and has four years of eligibility remaining.

High school signees (1)

F John Clark

  • A product of Missouri’s Link Academy who started his prep career at Klein (Texas) Cain, Clark signed with Texas in November.
  • Clark is ranked as the No. 57 overall prospect, the No. 10 power forward, and the No. 5 player in Missouri.
  • On3 ranks Clark as the No. 85 overall prospect, the No. 19 power forward, and the No. 5 player in Missouri.
  • Clark would be ranked as the No. 5 player in Texas in the On3 Industry Ranking based off his 94.35 rating.

Position breakdown if everyone returns

  • Forwards (4): Pryor, Codie, Vinson, Clark

Roster Housekeeping

  • Pending the House v. NCAA settlement approval, the roster limit for men’s basketball moves from 13 scholarship players to 15 scholarship players to make up a 15-man roster. How that affects walk-ons like McDermott and Clark is not yet clear.
  • If all but Bott return for the 2025-26 season, and if Clark follows through on his letter of intent, Texas would have six roster spots available.
