Given asymmetrical SEC scheduling, Texas handling its own destiny is paramount, but what happens to the teams that Texas doesn't play off-stage is nearly as important. Unless you think Texas is going 8-0 in SEC play. Nothing tastes so sweet as late July Burnt Orange Kool Aid, but that's improbable. Texas doesn't play LSU, Missouri or Tennessee this year, but those three teams will have an inordinate impact on the SEC race. They are potential chaos agents: capable of beating anyone they face, but also vulnerable to lower tier opponents.
