The Texas Longhorns football roster is now at the 85-man limit
With the recent addition of graduate transfer running back Velton Gardner, the Texas Longhorns enter the season at the full 85-man scholarship limit.

The Longhorns started the summer at 83 before kicker Bert Auburn was placed on scholarship to raise the total to 84. Then, Gardner was brought in as a last-second add to bolster depth in the running back room.
Texas enters the season with 18 seniors, 18 juniors, 14 sophomores, 13 redshirt freshmen, and 22 true freshmen.
