Thirty former Texas high school players taken in 2023 NFL Draft

The state of Texas is annually one of the top three producers of talent for the NFL. There have been some years with more than 40 former Texas high school players hearing names called during the draft.

The 2023 NFL Draft was a slightly down one for the Lone State State with only 30 names called after having 32 drafted in April of 2022.

The state of Florida led the way in the 2023 NFL Draft with 36 players selected. Texas finished second, and was followed by Georgia (23) and California (22). Illinois rounded out the top five with 12.

The six states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida continued to dominate the draft. The six combined for 110 of the 259 selections, or 42.5% of all NFL Draft picks.
