Top PFF grades from No. 2 Texas' 17-7 win over Texas A&M

The renewal of the in-state rivalry picked up where it left off 13 years ago on Saturday after the No. 2 Longhorns lapped the Texas A&M Aggies, 17-7, from Kyle Field in College Station. Here’s how the Horns graded out, per PFF.

OFFENSE

QB – Quinn Ewers, 67.3

Ewers accomplished something most Texas quarterbacks only dream of: Beating Texas A&M, Arkansas, Alabama, and Michigan on the road, while blowing out OU twice during his career on the Forty Acres. Now he’ll attempt to be a two-time conference champion on Saturday vs Georgia.

RB – Tre Wisner78.9

After a career-high 158 yards rushing vs Kentucky, Winser topped that with a 186-yard performance on 33 carries. The standard is the standard.

WR – Matthew Golden67.5, Ryan Wingo, 73.4

Golden and Wingo combined for 122 yards receiving on five catches for a balanced offensive attack on Saturday.

TE – Gunnar Helm64.6

The Mackey Award finalist continues leading the team in receiving after his 6-catch, 56-yard performance.

OL – Hayden Conner80.4, Trevor Goosby, 67.7

The Longhorns offensive line protected Ewers, and pushed the Aggies D-line around for over 450 total yards of offense. Goosby was tremendous filling in for the injured Kelvin Banks.

DEFENSE

DL/EDGE – Ethan Burke, 76.6, Vernon Broughton, 83.1Trey Moore, 77.8

The defensive line was the story of the game. Three fourth-down stops, holding the Aggies under 250 yards of total offense, and controlling the game from start to finish.

Moore then called ballgame.

LB – Anthony Hill Jr74.7, Liona Lefau, 92.1

Hill and Lefau held it down at the second level, with both posting strong grades and even strong performances.

CB – Jahdae Barron, 70.2Malik Muhammad, 63.6

Barron continues his march towards the Thorpe Award, while him and Muhammad were barely tested on Saturday night.

S/N – Michael Taaffe, 87.7, Andrew Mukuba84.0

Led by Taaffe and Mukuba, the safeties were again fantastic. Taaffe notched a interception, while Mukuba continued to lay the boom to opposing receivers.
