Top PFF grades from No. 4 Texas' 52-0 win over Colorado State
The No. 4 Texas Longhorns opened their season with a resounding 52-0 win over Jay Norvell and the Colorado State Rams at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Here’s how the team graded out, via PFF.

OFFENSE
QB – Quinn Ewers, 79.1, Arch Manning, 85.3
Ewers went 20 of 27 for 260 yards and three touchdown passes on Saturday, with his only turnover being an early tipped interception. Manning came in and was flawless, going 5 of 6, 95 yards, and two scores – one passing, one rushing – for his first Texas points.

While Manning’s first score in a Texas uniform involved some razzle dazzle.
RB – Jaydon Blue, 65.6, Tre Wisner, 70.2, Jerrick Gibson, 69.9
It was a running back-by-committee day on Saturday. Gibson led all rushers with 67 yards and a touchdown, while Wisner added 40 total yards (22 rushing, 18 receiving) and one touchdown on the ground in the win. Blue was strong in the first half.
WR – Isaiah Bond, 71.0, Matthew Golden, 73.5, Ryan Wingo, 90.8
Eleven different players caught passes on Saturday, led by five-star freshman Wingo who notched a team-best 70 yards on four catches. Golden was golden adding two touchdowns on his three catches for 50 yards. Bond snagged 61 yards receiving and one score on five catches.
TE – Juan Davis, 66.7
The tight end position didn’t pad any stats but still played well on Saturday. Gunnar Helm had two catches for 42 yards on 44 snaps, and Davis notched an 11-yard reception on 18 snaps.
OL – Cameron Williams, 73.9, Cole Hutson, 70.6, Kelvin Banks, 65.6
The two offensive tackles set the pace for the Texas offense with Williams (52 snaps) and Banks (48 snaps) leading the way. Hutson graded high at 70.6 in only 25 snaps as the sixth man coming off the bench that helped lead the offense’s 545 total yards.

DEFENSE
DL/EDGE – Vernon Broughton, 73.0, Barryn Sorrell, 76.4, Alfred Collins, 75.1
Broughton (22 snaps) led the defensive interior with two tackles and a pass deflection. Sorrell notched a D-line high 76.4 (23 snaps) grade, while Collins (22 snaps) and Jermayne Lole added a tackle.
LB – Anthony Hill Jr, 69.2, David Gbenda, 75.6, Derion Gullette, 72.7
Manning the middle of the defense, Hill Jr was fantastic in his first start of 2024 with five tackles and one tackle for loss. Gbenda added four tackles on 20 snaps.
CB – Malik Muhammad, 75.8, Jahdae Barron, 89.3, Wardell Mack, 93.8
Muhammad and Barron were absolutely fantastic for the Horns secondary. Muhammad added two tackles and one pass breakup, while Barron snagged an interception. Mack led the defense in grading by adding a late interception to his stats.

S/N – Michael Taaffe, 81.7, Jaylon Guilbeau, 67.7
Taaffe notched three tackles and one pass breakup in a solid performance Saturday. Guilbeau led all defenders with eight tackles in his first start for the Horns.
