Anwar Richardson first publicly reported the story.
On Sunday, Nahlin wrote the following on the Inside Texas Members Only board:
One of the scenarios worked out in Texas’ favor. Figuring it out would have required a little outside the box thinking. Read my post from yesterday on ranking coaching roles by importance for a hint.
That article posted Saturday listed the head coach as the most important coach on a staff, followed by the coordinator that oversees the side of the ball opposite from the head coach.

No. 3? The strength and conditioning coach.
Here’s how Nahlin justified his ranking of S&C coach No. 3.
Tom Herman would say Yancy McKnight was his most important hire and McKnight did some good things. S&C coaches run large departments and manage all the players throughout the offseason. It’s a tall order and the good ones are always in demand.
Becton was hired away from Cal by Texas. He also shared a stop at Washington with Sarkisian from 2011-2013. He’s worked at USC, South Carolina State, Iowa State, Baylor, and Oklahoma State plus a stint with the Houston Texans.
