Mark is likely taking advantage of a medical redshirt. During his second collegiate season at Houston, Mark played in the first seven games of the season before suffering a shoulder injury and undergoing surgery. He returned for 2022-23 at Houston and advanced to the Sweet 16 before the Cougars were eliminated by Miami (Fla.).
Mark transferred to Arkansas for 2023-24 and averaged 16.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in 31 games. During the most recent season with the Longhorns, his fifth in college and one that likely utilized the season of eligibility afforded by the NCAA in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mark averaged 10.6 points and 3.7 rebounds on 41 percent shooting in 29 games.
Mark became the point guard for the Texas offense at the end of the season and guided Texas to several wins in the SEC Tournament, wins that likely solidified Texas’ place in the field of 68. In three games as the point guard in Nashville, Mark was 14-for-36 from the field, scoring 19 points versus Vanderbilt and 15 points versus Texas A&M prior to notching eight against Tennessee. He had two assists versus Vanderbilt, five against Texas A&M, and three versus Tennessee. That 3.3 assists per game average was over double his season average entering the tournament of 1.6. He also was efficient with the basketball, recording only two turnovers in each game. That was all in 101 minutes of action in the SEC Tournament.
