Texas senior defensive lineman T’Vondre Sweat had a bit of fun on Friday night, one day after the conclusion of the Longhorns’ season in the 2022 Valero Alamo Bowl. Sweat has one year of eligibility remaining, but after a strong 2022 campaign the idea he became something not totally inconceivable.

After a bit of fun, Sweat made it clear he would return to the Longhorns for the 2023 campaign.

“Hey Longhorn Family,” Sweat wrote in his post. “It has been an amazing journey these last four years here on the beautiful 40 Acres. The things I learned over these years have motivated an(d) molded me into the man I am today in 2022.”

“Now, I would like to thank everyone that has supported me from my family, coaches, professors, and UT fans. I have had so much fun here with all of my teammates, but my year here is now up. New beginnings are upon me and again I love my family.”

“So with that said, I will be declaring for the 2023 Stay at the University of Texas one more year.”
