Updated look: The Texas Longhorns 2024 class
The Texas Longhorns sit at 15 commitments following the Thursday afternoon pledge by On3 4-star defensive lineman D’antre Robinson.

The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Robinson combines with Duncanville High’s Alex January to provide the Longhorns with two large humans on the defensive line in the 2024 class.
The announcement of Robinson to Texas over Florida also means the Longhorns have picked up 13 commitments by prospects that made official visits to Texas in June.
Inside Texas takes a chronological look at the Texas Longhorns 2024 class with the next top target scheduled to announce Saturday. On3 Industry Ranking 4-star defensive back Corian Gipson will announce between Texas and Clemson July 22 at 4 p.m. Central at Lancaster High.
January 11
On3 Industry Ranking 3-star quarterback Trey Owens committed to the Longhorns over Texas Tech, Houston, Baylor and others. Owens was one of the most improved and productive quarterbacks in the Lone Star State in 2022. The Cy-Fair High signal caller went from starting three games as a sophomore and throwing for 478 yards with five touchdowns to over 3,000 yards and 34 TDs as a junior. Owens was the only in-state quarterback in the 2024 cycle targeted by Steve Sarkisian and A.J. Milwee.

May 2
Texas tight ends and special teams coach Jeff Banks went to South Florida to reel in one of the top punting prospects in the 2024 class. St. Thomas Aquinas’ Michael Kern committed to Texas May 2. He made an official visit with his family June 16-18.
June 17
State of Arizona cornerback Santana Wilson got the June party started with his commitment June 17. The 6-foot-0, 180-pounder committed to Texas during his official visit over Arizona State, Washington and others. The son of former NFL safety and NFL executive Adrian Wilson will begin his college career at corner. Wilson’s father signed off on the Longhorns due to scheme fit and prior relationships with Steve Sarkisian and Terry Joseph.
June 18
On3 Industry Ranking 4-star Freddie Dubose Jr. became the first wide receiver commitment for Chris Jackson on June 18. The very high-end athlete picked Texas over Tennessee and UTSA with the Longhorns always being the favorite if Sarkisian and staff pushed. Dubose rebounded extremely well from a season opening ACL injury to qualify for the Texas UIL State track meet.
June 22
Tashard Choice brought in two running backs for official visits in the 2024 cycle and he got both. The first to commit was On3 Industry ranking 4-star Christian Clark. The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder picked Texas over Oregon, FSU and USC. Clark has a blend of quickness, power and contact balance with sure hands out of the backfield.
June 24
On3 Industry ranking 4-star Jerrick Gibson committed to the Longhorns on June 24 in an Instagram live video. This marked the second straight class that Tashard Choice went into the Sunshine State and won out for the state’s top running back. Gibson also happens to be one of the top running backs in the country, and kick starts Texas recruiting efforts at IMG Academy ahead of the move to the SEC.
June 25
Atascocita High guard prospect Nate Kibble was the surprise commitment of the month. The 6-foot-3, 315-pounder with 33 7/8 inch arms picked Texas over Texas A&M on Sunday night following an official visit. Kibble moving up his timeline to make a June 23-25 official visit was unexpected for the Texas staff. Sarkisian and Kyle Flood jumped on the opportunity to add the large human to the 2024 class.

June 28
On3 Industry ranking 4-star center prospect Daniel Cruz committed to Texas over Oklahoma and Ohio State, with Texas A&M not entering into the final equation. Sarkisian and Kyle Flood left zero doubt with Cruz and family how much he was wanted by Texas from the start. Cruz checks every box a lineman can entering the Power 5 level.
July 1
July 1 was a big day for the Texas staff. On3 Industry Ranking 4-star Parker Livingstone committed to Texas over South Carolina. The 6-foot-3, near 190-pounder became the second wide receiver commitment for Chris Jackson at Texas. Livingstone hauled in 52 receptions for 908 yards and 12 TD’s as a junior.
Duncanville High’s Alex January became the first defensive lineman to commit in the 2024 class. The Texas legacy picked the Longhorns over LSU with Florida State, Texas Tech and Oklahoma on the peripheral. The 6-foot-4.5, 322-pounder fits the desired large human mold on the defensive line the Texas staff plans to add more of headed to the SEC. Inside Texas expects January to take a big step on the field as a senior after becoming solely football focused.
Fort Worth native and IMG Academy standout safety Jordon Johnson-Rubell was the third and final commitment for the Longhorns July 1. The instinctive and all-around safety committed to Texas over Ohio State, Michigan, TCU and USC.
July 4
Texas assistant Jeff Banks picked up a commitment from one of the highest upside tight end prospects in the 2024 cycle July 4. Langham Creek High’s Jordan Washington announced for the Longhorns over Texas A&M, Arizona State, Utah and others following June official visits to Texas A&M, UTSA, Arizona State and Texas. He cancelled a June 23-25 official visit to Alabama after giving a silent to Texas.
July 7
July 7th was a very rare day in the world of college football recruiting. On3 Industry Ranking 4-star Aeryn Hampton became a rare prospect that de-committed from a school, only to commit back to the same school. The uber talented East Texas playmaker picked Texas over Alabama after June official visits to both schools. Hampton could play on either side of the ball for Texas, but he has a very high-end wide receiver skill set.
July 12
Melvin Hills joined Alex January as defensive line commitments for Texas July 12 at a ceremony in Lafayette, La. The 6-foot-3.5, 270-pounder selected Texas over Ole Miss after making June official visits to both schools. Hills bounced back from an ACL injury as a sophomore to record 90 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and three fumble recoveries in 2022.
July 20
The Longhorns continue to win huge recruitments in the state of Florida ahead of the move to the SEC in 2024. On300 4-star defensive lineman D’antre Robinson committed to Texas over Florida at Jones High in Orlando becoming the fifth Sunshine State commitment for Texas in the last two classes. The Orlando area has especially been fruitful for Texas with Robinson joining Cedric Baxter Jr. and Payton Kirkland as Texas pledges from the area. Baxter Jr. and Kirkland hosted Robinson on his June 16-18 official visit. The 6-foot-3, 315-pounder posted 89 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and nine sacks as a junior.
