Texas secures a commitment from Emmett Mosley, a Stanford transfer wide receiver, who visited during the April 12-13 weekend and quickly committed after entering the portal post-coach firing at Stanford.
Despite being just a sophomore, Mosley brings vital Power Five experience and football IQ from Stanford, enhancing the maturity level of a relatively young WR room.
Mosley has a strong athletic lineage (both parents were Notre Dame athletes) and has been praised for his reliability, physicality, and intelligence, earning comparisons to NFL-level work ethic.
As a true freshman at Stanford, he recorded 48 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns—including a breakout 168-yard, 3-TD game against Louisville. These numbers were the best by a Stanford freshman since Richard Sherman.

Expected to be a frequent target for Arch Manning, Mosley will likely play both in the slot and outside. Coaches value his blocking “want-to” and ability to run a full route tree.
While Mosley boosts Texas’ depth and toughness, the staff may still pursue a more explosive, outside threat in the portal along with tight end and defensive tackle reinforcements.
