WATCH: Jaydon Blue doesn't come close to Xavier Worthy's record, still posts a strong 40 time

He almost had it. Texas running back Jaydon Blue talked a big game this week, claiming that former teammate Xavier Worthy‘s record of 4.21 in the 40-yard dash was in jeopardy. It didn’t turn out that way, but Blue still posted a strong time in his testing day at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Blue ran a 4.38 on Saturday, one of the top two times at the Combine. He measured in at 5-foot-9, 196 pounds. His arm length was 29.875 inches and his hand length was 8.25 inches.
Blue’s 4.38 was the second-fastest time. SMU’s Brashard Smith was just behind him at 4.39. Both Blue and Smith were behind Virginia Tech’s Bhayshul Tuten, who posted a 4.32.
Worthy let Blue know that the Longhorns’ running back failed to break his mark.
Blue passed on participating in drills at the combine after his time, making Texas’ late March pro day all the more important.

Other Longhorns participating in the 2025 combine on Saturday include Isaiah Bond, Quinn Ewers, and Matthew Golden. Bond hopes to break Worthy’s record, too, but Blue’s efforts show how tough that is.
