While Jaydon Blue and Isaiah Bond talked a big game about the 40-yard dash, Matthew Golden said little about what he planned to run. In the end, he scorched both.

Golden ran a 4.29 40-yard dash at the NFL combine on Saturday. He stood pat on his first time and did not run a second 40.

Bond ran a 4.39 while Blue notched the second best time among running backs with a 4.38.

Golden was recently projected to be the 30th overall pick by Buffalo in NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah’s most recent mock draft.

With a time like 4.29, some of those projections may need updating.

Golden spent one season at Texas after two seasons with the Houston Cougars. He hauled in 58 passes for 987 yards and nine touchdowns for the Longhorns. He also had 14 kick returns for 285 yards. On trick plays, he was 1-for-2 passing for 30 yards, with the completion coming late in the dominant 34-3 win over Oklahoma.
