WATCH: Xavier Worthy scores a touchdown in the Super Bowl, the first ever by a Longhorn

For the first time ever, a Texas Longhorn has scored a touchdown in the Super Bowl.

With under a minute left in the third quarter of Super Bowl LIX, Xavier Worthy caught a 24-yard touchdown from a Patrick Mahomes pass to make it 34-6 Philadelphia. This came four plays after Mahomes and Worthy connected for a 50-yard play to help set up Kansas City’s first touchdown of the game.

The offensive outburst from Worthy and Mahomes was the first of the game for the Chiefs, as Philadelphia had completely stifled any Kansas City offensive attempt. In fact, Worthy’s venture into Eagles territory was the first time the Chiefs crossed the 50 during the game.

As the third quarter ends, Philadelphia leads 34-6. Worthy has four catches for 83 yards and one touchdown. He’s currently the leading receiver in the game.

Worthy is one of three Longhorns in the game along with Kansas City teammate Charles Omenihu and Philadelphia Eagle Moro Ojomo. Ojomo has one tackle for loss, while Omenihu has one tackle.
