Robertson brings a rare combination of size, power, and athleticism to the trenches. Even though he projects as a guard at the next level, he can be seen on film playing left tackle—a testament to his athletic ability. He’s capable of sealing the edge in the run game, protecting the quarterback’s blind side, and leading up the field on screen passes with impressive quickness for his size. He moves well laterally, shows great balance when pulling, and plays with a strong base in both run and pass protection.
His tape also highlights his relentless motor. He consistently finishes blocks, drives defenders off the ball, and hustles back to the huddle—demonstrating elite conditioning and mental focus. In no-huddle situations, Robertson doesn’t miss a beat, lining up with the same intensity snap after snap. He works well on combo blocks and understands how to execute a double team, then peel off and pick up defenders at the second level.

With Texas shifting toward more of a gap scheme while still incorporating inside zone concepts, Robertson is a perfect fit. His ability to create movement at the point of attack, get out in space, and execute with precision aligns with what Kyle Flood and Steve Sarkisian are building up front. He plays with a chip on his shoulder, reminiscent of DJ Campbell, and brings the kind of edge and toughness the Longhorns are looking for in the SEC.
This is a big-time addition for Texas—Robertson adds immediate value, long-term upside, and helps solidify the future of the offensive line.
