Texas QB Quinn Ewers
On being pulled before getting the chance to tie the record for most TD passes in a game: “I went up to Coach Sark joking, like, already? It was fun out there. It always is.”
On this performance affecting his confidence: “I think it does a lot for the confidence for sure. Going out there and executing the way we did as a whole, who wouldn’t be confident after that performance from the whole offense?”
On easy throws that allow players to go succeed: “That’s all I do at the end of the day, just trying to put the ball in the playmaker’s hands and they go make all the plays. That was our plan going into it. Just get the ball on the perimeter into those guy’s hands and allow them to go make the types of plays that they did.”
EDGE Trey Moore
On not having a sack: “I’m not too worried about statistics and all that stuff. I’m just trying to go out here and play good football and do my part to help the defense and the rest of the team win games. I’m letting the game come to me and letting God’s plan work out for myself.”
On the defense: “We know the type of talent we have on defense, the players that we have from the ones, to the twos, to the threes. Everybody across the board can play ball. We just want to do our part to help the team win games.”
On depth: “We recruit very talented players, so we’ve got to play as many guys as we can. It’s definitely big and important to have them be a factor in the game.”
OL Kelvin Banks
On early successes: “Defense went out there and got a stop. I think they got three stops (to start the game) and we scored right after that off of all three stops. If you can do that, go out there on special teams and play hard like we did, things like that, I feel we definitely played a complete game.”
On cutting down procedural penalties: “Our biggest thing was just poise and confidence at the line of scrimmage. We wanted to make sure we eliminated pre-snap penalties. I had a holding penalty today. I’m going to bring it up because I’ve got to fix it. I’ve got to do better at that. But it’s just us being confident in our training, honing in to what our quarterback is saying and not what the other guys are saying. I feel like we did good at that throughout the bye week and coming into this week as well.”

On the offense: “I feel like we’re definitely on the rise right now. I feel like we’re clicking on all cylinders on the offense. In practice, we’ve always been a confident team and we’ve always been high energy and high effort. High all that, but you can tell the willingness from our O-line, from our receivers, other positions like quarterbacks and running backs, to go out there and practice hard every day. I feel like we practiced good all week, and that correlated to the game. I feel like if we keep doing that, we’ll be good.”
WR Matthew Golden
On his play this year: “I give credit to Coach Sark and Coach Jackson, having them in my corner. My mom too, having them in my corner and just telling me to take accountability for each and every opportunity I get. Leave it up to God, too.”
On what led to today’s surge passing downfield: “Just a good week of practice, practicing (vertical passing) plays and those types of plays. Knowing we’ve got to do our job at the end of the day. Having Quinn back there and having him easy, it made it good for us.”
S Andrew Mukuba
On Austin defensive backs: “I feel like our connection is different. There’s times where I’ve just got to look at (Michael) Taaffe and he knows what I’m trying to say. I look at Jahdae (Barron) and he knows exactly what I’m trying to tell him without saying a word. Our connection is close. It just comes from being around each other, enjoying our time around each other, being open to each other, and having each other’s back.”

On his interception: “I was supposed to score. I was supposed to go all the way with that one. I looked like I never played offense before with that play. I was supposed to go get into the end zone with that one and was kind of frustrated with myself. But I snapped back into it and realized I made a play and to be excited about that.”
