What type of message did you send on that first drive you.. converting three third downs?

“At the end of the day, we were just trying to play our game and then when we had something not go our way, I think we did a really good job of playing with good poise and composure.”

On Gunnar Helm’s development:

“Gunnar is just a classic example of a guy coming in and putting his work in and putting his head down whenever he’s got a guy in front of him, like JT (Sanders), and you know, Gunnar is one of my closest buddies on the team, so it was awesome to see him have a game like this. And you know, I think he deserves it more than anybody, just for the amount of work that he puts in in the offseason. And, you know, we all knew he had it in him. So, I mean, I’m excited to see how the season goes for him.”

Andrew Mukuba

On his own personal confidence:

“I mean, I’ve grown and feel like my game, I’ve took my game to a different level, just the approach I take to the game and my preparation throughout the week. I feel that kind of, what leads up to the success on Saturday was what people don’t see throughout the whole week. So, yeah, going to the game, and my confidence was pretty high. You know, I was so confident on the game, playing with the work that I have put in throughout the whole week. And I feel like I can show my stuff.”

On what he envisioned before arriving at Texas:

“Definitely (playing on this stage). This definitely is how I pictured it, and obviously playing in big games like this also. But you know, just me being out there just flying around, being able to do different things out there, on the defense, and just getting involved more and just being around the ball more, I feel like that’s how, that’s definitely how I envisioned everything.”

Jahdae Barron

On how the defense’s multiple formations can fluster the opposing team:

“It’s kind of tricky. I mean, all hats off to (Texas CB) coach Terry Joseph. He’s trusting me to do those roles and stuff like that. He’s made me a great player at every position. So hats off to him. And I’m just continuing to grow and and it’s good that we have a lot of people on the defensive side that can talk and do different positions. So, I mean, just hats off to the coaching staff, honestly.”

this season.

On safety Andrew Mukuba’s burnt orange breakout:

“I mean, that’s my dog. He’s hungry. He came to me beginning of the game, kind of frustrated, but I told him he’s going to come, and it came, and I just told him that God gifted him. Everybody gets the opportunity to play, and you know, we’re playing in the glory of God, so we just got to go out there and just use a gift that He gifted us with. At the end of the day, we’re all blessed. Y’all blessed to be here the other team, even though they didn’t get the outcome they wanted. But they’re blessed to be here, and we’re just blessed to put on the show and play a great football sport that the whole world likes.”
