Manning was a sharp 26-of-31 passing, 324 yards, and three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing). Deandre Moore was the recipient of those scoring passes, netting 103 yards receiving on four catches. Here’s what the players said. Texas freshman EDGE Colin Simmons added two sacks for another stingy defense.

Are there moments where the game is slowing down for you:

“Definitely. “(The game) is starting to slow down for me. With it being my third time, or fourth time in action, it’s starting to down a bit.”

On what to work on during the bye week:

“I think there’s a lot we need to clean up. Pre-snap penalties, the holdings. A lot of that is on me to be a leader in that room for the offense and help get it right. That’s what we’ll take care of in the bye week and get ready for OU.”

On how Quinn Ewers’ advice helps Manning with the game:

Quinn (Ewers) always says to just ‘keep it fun’. He’s been great to me to lean on for advice. You just have to cut loose and have fun. Last week, I don’t think I had as much fun, but it was more fun today, even when it got a little rocky.”

Colin Simmons, EDGE

On playing Oklahoma in his first Red River Shootout after the bye week:

“OU, OU, OU… they gotta good squad this year. A lot of people on that team I know, but I feel like we’re going to dominate them. At the end of the day, we have to trust in our coaching and just get better, each and everyday.”

On his two-fumble performance on Saturday:

“I look at it as a learning lesson. When I carry the ball the way I should, I feel pretty unstoppable.”
