City by the Bay: Obviously there is plenty to do in San Francisco, and this will be the last Bay Area Weekender for a Stanford game as part of the Pac-12 Conference. In 2023, the actual last Bay Area Weekender will be for a final conference game at Cal. The Trojans will be playing in the Big Ten in 2024. No matter the year, there is plenty to do in the Bay Area. There’s the Wharf, Chinatown, Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, a “60s” visitation to Haight-Ashbury, and the tour of Alcatraz. If you’re looking for something really interesting, we again suggest the Walt Disney Family Museum, located in the Presidio of San Francisco and part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. If you’re driving to the game from downtown San Francisco to Palo Alto, give yourself plenty of time and figure on at least an hour’s drive. Traffic leading into Stanford can be dicey, as well.

Stanford Campus: You won’t get much of an argument that the Stanford campus is one beautiful piece of land. From the oak trees to the streetlamps, there is a sense of intellect and tranquility. Get there early and explore the grounds; it’s well worth it. The folks are generally friendly, and the Stanford Fan Feast next to Stanford Stadium is a lot of fun.
