2024 Georgia LB Devin Smith picks up USC offer
Brunswick (Ga.) three-star 2024 linebacker Devin Smith has picked up an offer from USC. He announced the news via Twitter.
The offer is the second to be extended to a 2024 linebacker in as many days.
Smith is the No. 601 overall prospect and No. 63 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 68 player in Georgia.
The offer is an intriguing one as Smith trimmed his list to five schools earlier this month. Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, LSU, and Kentucky were among the group.
What is interesting in the recruitment of Smith is that he has taken 25 visits to 16 different schools, yet none of them have been official visits. He has only utilized unofficial visits, which means his recruitment is likely to carry on for some time, if he does plan to take official visits.
Despite his ranking being in the 600’s, Smith holds a very impressive offer list of 35 programs. Among those are LSU, Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Miami, Ohio State, Michigan, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Florida State, Tennessee, UCF, and others.

The Brunswick standout measures in at a stout 6-foot-3, 220 pounds. In 20 games plays on varsity, Smith has racked up 124 total tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, five fumble recoveries, and four forced fumbles.
Out of his 124 total tackles, 84 have been solo stops.
On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has UCF with a slight over Alabama to land Smith’s commitment with the Knights at 21.4% and the Tide at 14.2%.
RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
On3 NIL Valuation
Smith currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $20K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
