2025 DL Jyon Simon says USC offer was "such a surprise"
One of the many recent offers sent out by USC was to class of 2025 defensive lineman Jyon Simon out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines.
Simon is a prospect who is beginning to pick up a fair amount of buzz on the recruiting trail. To this time, he holds offers from USC, Texas, Arkansas, Maryland, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Western Kentucky, Florida A&M.
USC, along with Texas, are the two biggest brands to offer Simon to this point.
“It was such a surprise,” says Simon.
In my conversation with him about the offer, Simon explained how the offer came to be.
“I started getting a lot of followers by the USC staff early in the week and I actually got a text from USC defensive line coach, Coach Nua, asking how I was doing. He also asked me if California was too far and I replied saying “no sir definitely not.”
“As the week went along I kept getting cool USC graphics. Then I talked to Coach BAW (Bryson-Allen Williams) and Coach Nua and he told me and my family the amazing news that I would be blessed to receive an offer from University of Southern California.”
Being from Florida and still early in the recruiting process, Simon does not have a ton of knowledge on USC, but he has watched them as a kid and has always liked what he’s seen.

“The history that goes behind USC, there are not any places that have that much history and that much meaning behind everything that the university does.”
