Over 20 schools have offered DeKalb (Miss.) Kemper County offensive tackle Mario Nash. On Monday though, he made the decision to trim his recruitment down to just half. He released his top 10 on Monday morning.

“It is the way they can help me develop and become the player I want to be,” Nash told On3’s Chad Simmons about the 10 schools that made his list. ” I like the coaching, the culture, the history and the academic side of things as well at these schools.”

Nash has not yet visited USC, but the Trojans coaching staff have made their presence felt. Nash told Simmons that members of the USC coaching staff stopped by on multiple visits in January.

Out of his top 10, he has visited just four of the programs. These include Florida State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Miami. But it seems Nash is looking to expand his list. This will likely include the programs on the list he has not yet been to.

“My next step is to take some unofficial visits this spring, narrow my list down a little more, then commit before my senior season. I want to work hard at upcoming camps, take the visits and then be able to focus on my team next season as a commitment.

“I will take my visits, pray about it, ask God for guidance and make my decision. Development is important. How well the coaches develop me on and off the field is big too. It is not just football for me, but about life too. Then I am looking for a brotherhood and where I feel like home at.”

USC’s 2025 class

USC holds just one commitment in the class of 2025 to this point, but it is a high quality one.

Five-star quarterback Julian Lewis out of Carrollton (Ga.) has been pledged to USC since August. He also recently reclassified to the 2025 cycle. Lewis is ranked as the No. 9 overall prospect in the class, as well as the No. 2 quarterback.
