As hard as it is to believe sometimes, some of the guys we covered at USC during the Pete Carroll Era already have kids in high school. What’s even crazier is USC just offered former Trojans Wide Receiver Jason Mitchell’s son, Jason Mitchell II.

Mitchell played at USC from 2002 to 2004 and won a National Championship in 2004. Mitchell went on to play a year in the NFL and a few years in Canada. Now he mentors and trains young athletes like his own kids.

On Thursday the Mitchell’s visited USC and attended Thursdays practice

“I got the offer after my visit,” Mitchell said.”Today we were watching practice, getting to know the new staff and getting a feel for the way the things are going to be now at USC. Coach Dee (Donte Williams)pulled me to the side and informed me that I held a Scholarship to the University of Southern California. This has always been my dream school.

It’s an exceptionally unique situation to not only earn a USC scholarship offer, but an offer to the same school as a parent. I’ve known for a few years how much the USC offer meant to young Jason Mitchell II.

“This is honestly crazy, genuinely my Dream,” Mitchell said.

The USC offer was No. 11 for Mitchell. He now has USC, Oregon, Utah, Arizona, ASU, Notre Dame, BYU, Nevada, Hawaii, FAU and Maryland.

A few other top 2024 USC targets were also at practice like Mitchell’s 4-Star Serra CB teammate Dakoda Fields and 4-Stat Mater Dei OL DeAndre Carter. Fields also earned and offer from USC Thursday and Carter had one.
