A trio of USC Trojans are at the Senior Bowl this week

The two big college football postseason all-star events get underway this week with the East-West Shrine Bowl and Reese’s Senior Bowl. USC does not have a player in Texas for the Shrine Bowl but will have three players in Mobile this week when practices kick off Tuesday for the Senior Bowl. Here’s who is down there and how to watch.
The game kicks off Saturday, Feb. 1 at 11:30 am PT. It will air live on NFL Network.
Ahead of that, the teams will practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The full schedule:
- Tuesday, Jan. 28 (National Team: 10:30-12:30 p.m.; American Team: 1-3 p.m.)
- Wednesday, Jan. 29 (National Team: 10:30-12:30 p.m.; American Team: 1-3 p.m.)
- Thursday, Jan. 30 (National Team: 10:30-12:30 p.m.; American Team: 1-3 p.m.)
Here are the Trojans scheduled to participate:
Running back Woody Marks (National Team)
Marks was a standout for the Trojans in his one year at USC after coming over from Mississippi State. He wanted to prove he could be a high-volume, three-down back at this level and he absolutely did that as a runner, receiver and pass blocker. He finished the 2024 season with 198 rushing attempts for 1,133 yards and 47 receptions for 321 yards. The rushing attempts were a career high by 85 carries and the yards on the ground set a career high by 551 yards.
He’ll have a chance to prove he’s the best pass-receiving back in this class during this week and he’ll be on the same team as some of the top backs in the nation, including Oklahoma State’s Ollie Gordon, Michigan’s Donovan Edwards, Miami’s Damien Martinez and Arizona State’s Cameron Skattebo.
Marks looks like a sure-thing NFL Draft pick and projects at this point to go early on Day 3. He’ll be coached at the Senior Bowl by Favian Upshaw of the Denver Broncos. He checked into the event at 5-foot-10 and 215 pounds.
Offensive lineman Jonah Monheim (National Team)
Monheim did it all along the line of scrimmage USC during his five-year career with the Trojans. He started 18 games at right tackle, 12 games at left tackle, 12 games at center and four games at right guard. He’s the only center listed on the National Team roster. He’ll be coached by Lemuel Jeanpierre of the Miami Dolphins and Scott Fuchs of the Tennessee Titans.

Monheim is a guaranteed NFL pick at this point and this week could go a long way toward determining how scouts view him and what round he could go in. He finished the year playing through significant injury against Notre Dame but should hopefully be at or very close to full health this week.
Monheim checked into the event at 6-foot-4 and 1/8, and 307 pounds.
Cornerback Jaylin Smith (National Team)
Smith was a big-time riser this season and put together his best year of football for the Trojans. He finished the year with 59 tackles, including four tackles for loss, to go along with two interceptions and two pass deflections. He played with a ton of confidence at outside cornerback after moving over from nickel, and he was one of the team’s most consistent tacklers in the secondary.
Smith will be coached by Deshawn Shead of the Miami Dolphins and Jeff Anderson of the Cleveland Browns. It’ll be interesting to see how Smith performs this week but this season very likely established him as a Day 3 pick in the upcoming draft.
