Alex Grinch has spring goals in mind for USC
Fifteen spring ball practices likely don't allow for enough time to turn around a USC defense that was historically bad in 2021, but that's the assignment for new defensive coordinator Alex Grinch. He'll need to find a way to install a defense that is brand new to two assistant coaches and all but one player. And he needs to completely change the trajectory of a defense that finished 10th in the Pac-12 in total yards allowed, 10th in passing yards allowed, 8th in rushing yards allowed and 11th in points allowed per game last season.
