Another USC Commitment: 4-Star Offensive Lineman Esun Tafa

Draper (UT) Corner Canyon four-star interior offensive lineman Esun Tafa committed to Washington on November 25, but since then the 6-foot-5, 290-pounder decommitted. On March 11th Esun Tafa committed to Lincoln Riley and USC.
USC entered the mix after Zach Hanson offered Tafa on January 29. He’s visited USC twice since then and plans to be back for a spring practice and a June 13-15 official visit. The next time Tafa returns to USC’s campus he’ll be a Trojan pledge and a member of USC’s No.1 ranked recruiting class.
The 6-foot-4, 315-pound Tafa chose the Trojans over an offer list that also included Washington, Utah, UCLA and Texas A&M among others. Head coach Lincoln Riley, position coach Zach Hanson and the Trojans extended a scholarship at the end of January so things picked up quickly between the Big Ten program and Tafa.
Why USC for Tafa?
“The tradition and winning history is huge,” he said. “My mom’s family were born and raised in Orange County, so USC was their favorite for football and volleyball, and even more now that I’ve been offered.

“I think with the coaching changes, the energy is really high. Also 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes look really good. Overall a lot of positive things going on at USC that make me very excited for the future.”
2026 USC recruiting class ranked No. 1
As of March 11, USC owns the No. 1 2026 recruiting class ranking per the On3 Industry Rankings.
The 14 committed players for the Trojans are Fifita, Esun Tafa, Trent Mosely, Simote Katonaga, Jonas Williams, Xavier Griffin, RJ Sermons, Brandon Lockhart, Braeden Jones, Madden Riordan, Joshua Holland, Shahn Alston, Andrew Williams and Ja’Myron “Tron” Baker.
While this could change tomorrow, next week or next month, as of now we believe the most likely 2026 USC targets to commit next are Vlad Dyakonov, Deshonne Redeaux, Khary Wilder, Malakia Lee and Sam Utu. WeAreSC will update this list each month as appropriate.
