BREAKING: 2024 Texas safety Braylon Conley commits to USC
USC has landed a commitment from one of their top remaining defensive targets, receiving a pledge from 2024 Humble (Tex.) Atascocita defensive back Braylon Conley.
Conley is the No. 512 overall prospect and No. 52 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 90 player in Texas.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back becomes the 16th commit for USC in the 2024 class. He is the fifth defensive back in the class to date, joining West Hills (CA) Chaminade High four-star safety Marquis Gallegos, Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star cornerback Marcelles Williams, Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra four-star cornerback Dakoda Fields,
Conley has long been a favorite of USC defensive backs coach Donte Williams. He took two visits to USC, one coming in April and the most recent being his official visit in late May. The Trojans were the leader in his recruitment for the entirety of that time. Conley did visit other schools this summer including Arkansas, Utah, Auburn, and Texas.
Conley is the third prospect from the state of Texas to commit to USC’s 2024 class, joining McKinney (Tex.) running back Bryan Jackson and Arlington (Tex.) Martin offensive lineman Makai Saina.

Offer sheet
Conley holds 31 total offers. His group of offers seems to outweigh his ranking at this point.
His offers are from USC, Texas, Michigan, Georgia, TCU, Oregon, Arkansas, Auburn, Louisville, Washington, Kansas State, Utah, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Wisconsin, Colorado, Duke, Michigan State, Kansas, Iowa State, Arizona State, California, Maryland, UNLV, Oregon State, SMU, Eastern Washington, Missouri, Tulsa, UTSA, Memphis, and Akron.
Conley’s Projected Position in College
A major discussion among fans is about Conley’s true position. Conley is ranked by recruiting services as a safety, but the Trojans are recruiting him as a cornerback.
I think it is also possible we see Conley in a nickel cornerback role in the future with Marcelles Williams and Dakoda Fields filling the outside roles. But it is likely all the cornerbacks will be tested at both outside and nickel, which will decide who fits where.
On3 NIL Valuation for Conley
Conley has an On3 NIL Valuation of $29K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
