BREAKING: 4-star OT Manasse Itete commits to USC
USC just continues to carry their red hot recruiting weekend into the new week with their fifth commitment in two days! Modesto (Calif.) Central Catholic four-star offensive tackle Manasse Itete has announced his pledge to the Trojans.
Itete is the No. 345 overall prospect and No. 24 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 28 player in California.
On3 rates Itete higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 195 overall prospect, No. 17 offensive tackle and No. 14 player in California.
Itete becomes the eighth commitment for USC in the 2024 class.
Itete was yet another official visitor this weekend in Los Angeles. Atlanta (Ga.) Washington four-star EDGE Kameryn Fountain, Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra four-star cornerback Dakoda Fields, Clearwater (Fla.) four-star safety Jarvis Boatwright Jr., and Englewood (CO) Cherry Creek three-star offensive lineman Hayden Treter have all pledged to the Trojans in the past two days.
USC made a big move this weekend
Heading into the weekend, USC was playing catch up in this recruitment. Florida State was the clear leader to land Itete’s commitment and he said as much in a recent interview with On3.
“Florida State is the top school right now, but the official visits will be big for me,” Itete said.
That statement reigned true for USC and offensive line coach Josh Henson as they were able to turn the tide this weekend and lock Itete up in this 2024 class.

On3 NIL Valuation
Itete has an On3 NIL Valuation of $37K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
More on the current class for USC
To date, the seven other commitments in the 2024 class are Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra four-star cornerback Dakoda Fields, Los Angeles (Cal.) Sierra Canyon four-star Xavier Jordan, Atlanta (Ga.) Washington four-star EDGE Kameryn Fountain, Lake Oswego (Ore.) Lakeridge four-star tight end Joey Olsen, Clearwater (Fla.) four-star safety Jarvis Boatwright Jr., McKinney (Tex.) three-star running back Bryan Jackson, and Englewood (CO) Cherry Creek three-star offensive lineman Hayden Treter.
Also, as of right now, there are more than 20 prospects in the class of 2024 who are currently favored in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine to land with USC. A good portion of them visited USC this spring and/or are planning official visits in the summer.
The Trojans are currently set to host 35 official visitors in the month of June, primarily scheduled for two major visit weekends. The staff will hope for similar success as last cycle when they landed more than 10 of their June official visitors.
USC finished the 2023 class ranked inside the top-10 and Lincoln Riley and staff have started off on the right foot with an opportunity to repeat that feat in the 2024 class.
