BREAKING: Elite 4-Star CB Braxton Myers Commits to USC
USC added a huge commitment on Monday afternoon from Elite 4-Star Coppell (TX) CB Braxton Myers. Myers announced his pledge to the Trojans less than 24 hours after Big-Time Washington Cornerback Jacobe Covington announced his.
He chose USC over Clemson, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas and Cal.
Myers praised USC’s “family-based program” in announcing his decision. He also appreciated the amount of time USC head coach Lincoln Riley and defensive coordinator Alex Grinch put into his recruiting process. They began recruiting him during his freshman year while they were at Oklahoma and continued after moving to USC.
Myers took an unofficial visit April 2 and returned for another USC visit on April 23 for the Spring Game.
We stopped by Coppell five days after Myers’s last trip to USC. He talked about what stood out on his last visit, the vibe he’s getting in Los Angeles and why USC was the choice.

“A great vibe, really. I loved it,” said Myers.”I Kind of expected it to be based off what Coach (Lincoln) Riley, Coach (Alex) Grinch and Coach Donte (Williams) said about what L.A. really is. It all came to life that weekend and I had a great time there.”
“My interest was already high, because of I’ve known the coaches since my freshman year. They were recruiting me hard at OU. But I learned about a lot of great opportunities in L.A. I’d have outside of football…like NIL opportunities Coach Riley talked about.
“Also the depth chart is pretty low and I’d have a great opportunity to come in and contribute to the team. “It’s very attractive to be able to contribute at one of the most historical colleges in the world and playing for USC would be great.”
Although Donte Williams is Myers’s primary recruiter and a main reason behind his commitment to the Trojans, Lincoln Riley played a vital role.
“I talk to coach Riley every week,” Myers said. “He’s a great guy. I love his personality. He’s a family dude. He really wants me and I can tell.”
Every top USC target who visits gets a grand tour and does a photo shoot at the Coliseum. That part was a huge highlight for Myers.
“The Coliseum was everything I thought it would be,” Myers said.”Big, historical and really just great. Seeing all the different designs when I took my photos, all of the images on the walls outside of all the people who’ve spoken there.”
Myers is the country’s No. 119 overall player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
