BREAKING: Texas OL Makai Saina commits to USC
USC has landed a commitment from one of their top offensive targets, receiving a pledge from 2024 Arlington (Tex.) Martin offensive lineman Makai Saina.
Saina is the No. 414 overall prospect and No. 29 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 69 player in Texas.
The 6-foot-5, 285 pound offensive lineman becomes the 15th commit for USC in the 2024 class. He is the fourth offensive lineman in the class to date, joining four-star tackle Manasse Itete, four-star tackle Jason Zandamela, and three-star interior offensive lineman Hayden Treter.
This summer, Saina took an official visit to Texas A&M (June 2), USC (June 16) and finished it up with Texas (June 23).
Saina was targeted as one of the top offensive line targets by Josh Henson in this 2024 class during the spring. After an unofficial visit by Saina, the Trojans quickly rose up Saina’s ranks as a true contender. The official visit in Los Angeles this month secured USC’s place as the leader in his recruitment.
Saina is the second prospect from the state of Texas to commit to USC’s 2024 class, joining fellow Dallas-Fort Worth prospect, McKinney (Tex.) running back Bryan Jackson.

USC takes another from Texas
Prior to his commitment to USC, Texas A&M was the favorite to land a commitment from Saina. Even Texas was ahead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine over USC.
Saina is now the second commit for Trojans out of Texas with several more trending to land with USC.
Saina’s Projected Position in College
While Saina starts at tackle at the high school level, he best projects as an interior offensive lineman in college.
“A lot of people say I’m going to be a guard in college,” Saina previously told On3 Michigan expert EJ Holland. “Right now, I play tackle. I can play some center, too. I don’t really mind. I can play anywhere.”
On3 NIL Valuation
Saina has an On3 NIL Valuation of $33K with 2K combined followers across Twitter and Instagram. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
