Lorenzo Cowan

USC’s December recruiting momentum continues as the Trojans have landed a commitment from Savannah (Ga.) Jenkins EDGE Lorenzo Cowan.

Cowan decommitted from Kentucky Wednesday morning following his official visit to USC on Dec. 8-10. He was committed to the Wildcats since September 10. The Trojans had full momentum to land his commitment following his visit.

Cowan, 6-foot-4, 220 pounds, has had two very productive seasons for Jenkins as a junior and senior. In 2022, he turned in a 31-tackle, 8-sack season and backed it up as a senior with 76 total tackles and another eight sacks. As a senior, he also had a very impressive eight pass deflections and three blocked field goals.

Cowan is the No. 1119 overall prospect and No. 93 edge rusher in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 133 player in Georgia.

On3 is higher on Cowan than the rest of the industry, tabbing him as the No. 56 edge rusher in the 2024 class.

Despite his low national ranking, Cowan is a prospect USC, specifically outside linebacker coach Roy Manning, fell in love with down the stretch. The USC staff feels Cowan has the tools to be a star in Los Angeles.
