BREAKING: WR Roderick Tezeno Commits to USC

USC has landed some big-time players from the state of Louisiana over the years like five-star running back Joe McKnight, five-star quarterback John David Booty and most recently five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart.
On Monday USC added another top prospect from Louisiana in four-star Opelouses wide receiver Roderick Tezeno. Tezeno announced his commitment to the Trojans via social media.
While the Trojans currently have 14 of their 24 2026 commits hailing from the Golden State, they still need to go out of state to fill some key needs. Two of the 2026 wide receiver pledges are from out of state in Tezeno and Kohen Brown from just south of Dallas in Waxahachie (TX).
Why USC
Tezeno and fellow Louisianans 2027 RB Javon Vital and 2027 WR Braylon Calais visited USC on April 11 and all three earned scholarship offers that day. They plan to return for a second visit, but Tezeno was back last weekend for USC’s final spring practice on April 26.
He shared a few reasons why he came back to Los Angeles for a second USC visit with his family. What he wanted his mom and dad to see.

“Obviously the campus and I had good conversation with a lot of really good people,” said Tezeno. “Like genuine. There’s a lot of opportunity around here, like besides football too. And they could be good in the future. My official visit should be June 6-8. What stood out was how Coach (Lincoln) Riley dialed everything up during the scrimmage at practice. He puts his playmakers in position to make plays to be successful.”
Significant On3 rankings bump
LastMonday Tezeno got a significant rankings boost to No. 257 overall. He’s now a higher end four-star prospect per Charles Power and Cody Bellaire. Based off what I’ve seen from Tezeno in New Orleans last month, he’s well deserving of the bump.
USC’s No. 2 ranked 2026 recruiting class
As of April 28, USC owns the No. 2 2026 recruiting class ranking. That class ranking was bolstered a bit this month with the commitment of four-star Mater Dei defensive lineman TomTom Topui.
The 23 committed players for the Trojans are Kannon Smith, Vlad Dyakonov, TomTom Topui, Jake Johnson, Kohen Brown, Malik Brooks, Chase Deniz, Jaimeon Winfield, John Fifita, Esun Tafa, Trent Mosely, Simote Katonaga, Jonas Williams, Xavier Griffin, RJ Sermons, Brandon Lockhart, Braeden Jones, Madden Riordan, Joshua Holland, Shahn Alston, Andrew Williams and Ja’Myron “Tron” Baker.
