Bronny James cleared for full return to basketball activities

USC guard Bronny James has been fully cleared by his doctors for a full return to basketball, according to a family spokesperson via Shams Charania of The Athletic.
James has been recovering from a cardiac arrest he suffered in late July and has not suited up for the Trojans this season. Recently, he’s warmed up before games.
According to the statement from the family spokesperson:
“Bronny James is now cleared by his doctors for a full return to basketball. Bronny will have a final evaluation with USC staff this week, resume practice next week, and return to games soon after. The James family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible medical team, the entire USC community, and especially the countless friends, family, and fans for their love and support. Fight On!”

Charania said James will resume practice next week for USC.
The Trojans are 5-2 this season and coming off a lopsided win over Eastern Washington last night.
True freshman point guard Isaiah Collier has been as-advertised through seven games, averaging 17.7 points, 4.2 assists and 2.9 rebounds. He’ll need to clean up the turnovers going forward, but he’s been part of a three-guard lineup that has paced the Trojans. Boogie Ellis leads the team with 21.5 points per game. Kobe Johnson is third at 14.2 points per game. And those three have combined for 10.5 of USC’s 14.9 assists per game.
James was part of a loaded recruiting class for the Trojans. A four-star guard and the nation’s No. 25 overall prospect, he signed along with Collier (the No. 1 overall prospect), four-star center Arrinten Page and four-star forward Brandon Gardner. Page has contributed this season, averaging 12 minutes, two points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
