Former USC quarterback Caleb Williams officially signed his rookie contract with the Chicago Bears on Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

Williams signed a four-year, fully-guaranteed contract worth $39.49 million that also includes a $25.5 million signing bonus as well as a team option for the fifth year.

Williams wasn’t the only notable Chicago rookie to sign on Tuesday. Fellow first-round pick Rome Odunze also signed. The former Washington standout also signed a full-guaranteed four-year deal worth $22.7 million and a $13.3 million signing bonus. As a first-round pick, his deal also comes with a fifth-year team option.

It was good timing for Williams and the Bears as Chicago rookies reported to Halas Hall today for the start of training camp. The first practice is scheduled to take place on Saturday.

Williams has already been named the Bears starting quarterback for Week 1 of the 2024 regular season. The hope is he can put up numbers never before produced by a Chicago quarterback. The Bears are the only NFL team to never have a quarterback throw for 4,000 yards in a season. Chicago is also the only franchise to never have a quarterback throw 30 touchdown passes in a season. Ten quarterbacks threw for 4,000 yards last season. Four threw for 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns.
