Defensive Lineman Malik Brooks Commits to USC

Three-star local defensive lineman Malik Brooks (6-4, 315) from St. Paul/St. Matthias HS in Downey (CA) has announced his verbal commitment to the USC Trojans on Saturday. Brooks and several other top targets attended USC’s practice today.
Brooks was offered last April and his last visit to USC prior today was for the February 1 junior day event. Brooks has been visiting USC since well before he was recruitable athlete.
As of March 29, Brooks owns scholarship offers from USC, UCLA, Notre Dame, Alabama, Georgia, Washington, Texas A&M, Florida, San Diego State, Oregon State, Arizona and SMU.

USC’s No. 1 ranked 2026 recruiting class
As of March 29, USC has the No. 1 2026 recruiting class ranking. That class ranking was bolstered a bit last Friday morning with a verbal commitment from No. 84 overall ranked defensive lineman Jaimeon Winfield from Richardson, Texas.
The 17 committed players for the Trojans are Malik Brooks, Chase Deniz, Jaimeon Winfield, John Fifita, Esun Tafa, Trent Mosely, Simote Katonaga, Jonas Williams, Xavier Griffin, RJ Sermons, Brandon Lockhart, Braeden Jones, Madden Riordan, Joshua Holland, Shahn Alston, Andrew Williams and Ja’Myron “Tron” Baker.
