Elite 4-Star Wide Receiver Makai Lemon Commits To USC
When 5-Star 2023 QB Malachi Nelson committed to USC earlier this week, most believed it was simply a matter of time before his 4-Star Los Alamitos teammate committed.
Those two aren’t just teaamtes, they’re best friends and like family. In fact, their familyies are extremely close, too.
So when Lemon decided to announce his commitment to the Trojans via Social Media on Friday, we got him and Nelson on a quick Zoom call to talk about it.
Both Lemon and Nelson always preferred staying close to home and playing at USC, but USC didn’t have a football program they wanted to play for….until Riley was hired.

Two days after Riley was hired Nelson announced his USC Commitment. A day after than he and Lemon were on campus at USC wit their parents, Los Al coach Bruce Bible, USC WRs coach Dennis Simmons, Gavin Morris, Armond Hawkins Jr. and Megan Mueller.
Both Nelson and Lemon will be a huge aid with the USC recruiting effort and a vital part of the resurgence of the program the next four to five years.
Earlier today while in their lunch break, they talked to WeAreSC via Zoom about why Lincoln Riley is a coach they want to play for, how USC is now viewed since Riley’s hiring, who they’ll recruit, what’s ahead and more.
