USC basketball head coach Eric Musselman knows he has virtually an entire roster to fill out this offseason and he’s doing his part early on in his tenure. In less than a week on the job, Musselman has landed two transfer portal commitments. The second came on Wednesday, from Penn transfer guard Clark Slajchert.

Previously, Musselman landed UMass center transfer Josh Cohen, who had been committed to him at Arkansas.

Slajchert, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound senior guard is a Los Angeles native and attended Oak Park High School. Last season at Penn, Slajchert averaged 18.0 points, 2.9 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 48.7% from the floor, 42.2% from 3-point range and 82.4% from the free throw line.

“My main goals were to find a school where we could win in March and I could continue to grow as a person and a player,” Slajchert told On3’s Joe Tipton. “Coach Musselman and his staff laid out the vision they have for me and the program and it seemed like the perfect place to develop and prove myself at a high level, while also being around a great group of people that elevate each other. The fact that it aligned at a great academic school in my hometown is the cherry on top.”

Previously, Slajchert had narrowed his finalists down to eight schools, including USC, UCLA, Cal, Utah State, San Francisco, Stanford, Davidson, and Michigan.
