ESPN, PFF Name Dorian Singer a Top-10 Returning Wide Receiver
Dorian Singer knew he’d be stepping into a bright spotlight when he decided to transfer from Arizona to USC. The 6-foot, 180-pound receiver didn’t arrive with quite the same fanfare that greeted Jordan Addison when he made the move from Pitt to USC last offseason. Addison was coming off a 100-catch, 18-touchdown season and was the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner.
But Singer put together a standout 2022 season. He finished with 66 receptions for 1,105 yards and six touchdowns. And he did so as part of a really talented trio of Wildcat receivers. Jacob Cowing led the Pac-12 with 84 receptions. And Tetairoa McMillan led the conference with 18 yards per catch on his 39 receptions. McMillan also finished tied with Addison with eight touchdown grabs.
The Trojans return Mario Williams, Brenden Rice and Tahj Washington from the 2022 roster. Each caught at least 39 passes for 600 yards and four touchdowns last season. But it’s Singer who is receiving much of the preseason hype among both that group and the one he joined at USC.
PFF posted its list of the top-10 returning wide receivers in college football. Singer came in at No. 8.
Of Singer, PFF wrote: “Singer broke out in a major way for Arizona this past year. The former walk-on tallied 29 catches that went for 15-plus yards, trailing only Marvin Harrison Jr. among returning Power Five receivers. The sophomore’s 1,105 receiving yards ranked second in the Pac-12 to Rome Odunze.
Singer won’t be suiting up for the Wildcats next year, but he will be staying in the Pac-12. He’ll join USC and should be very familiar to Trojans fans, as he torched them for 141 yards and three touchdowns in 2022. Singer could be reigning Heisman winner Caleb Williams’ top target next year with Jordan Addison off to the NFL.”

Both Odunze and Jalen McMillen of Washington ranked ahead of Singer on that list. It was topped at Nos. 1 and 2 by Ohio State teammates in Harrison and Emeka Egbuka.
ESPN.com published its list of the 10 best wide receivers going into the 2023 season. Singer tied with Texas’ Xavier Worthy for No. 4 on the list.
The breakdown, courtesy of ESPN’s Paolo Uggetti:
During his second season at Arizona, Singer broke out for 1,105 receiving yards and six touchdowns on just 66 receptions. The player from St. Paul, Minnesota, averaged 16.7 yards per catch and became one of the fulcrums of Arizona’s explosive offense. It was enough to vault Singer into the national spotlight and, more importantly, right into the view of Lincoln Riley and USC. In fact, Singer put on a show during the Wildcats’ matchup against the Trojans in October. USC’s defense had no answer for Singer, who totaled 144 yards and three touchdowns, including a 73-yard score.
So it was no surprise that once Singer entered the transfer portal, USC called. The decision was straightforward and, with Jordan Addison leaving for the NFL, Singer immediately has become one of Caleb Williams’ top targets this spring. USC’s wide receiver room is loaded, but Singer has the opportunity to be the No. 1 option and have a season that tops his breakout in Tucson last year.”
