Two former USC Trojans were named to the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl as the rosters were announced Thursday.

Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions was selected as a starter and quarterback Sam Darnold of the Minnesota Vikings was selected as a reserve. Both former Trojans will suit up for the NFC team.

St. Brown is one of four wide receivers selected, along with Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys and Terry McLaurin of the Washington Commanders.

St. Brown is No. 2 in the NFL with 109 receptions, No. 4 in the NFL with 1,186 receiving yards and tied for No. 2 with 12 touchdowns.

The 6-foot, 202-pound receiver has been an NFL star since his arrival into the league ahead of the 2021 season. This is his third straight season with at least 100 receptions and 1,150 receiving yards. He still has one regular season game to play this year, but in four years, St. Brown has 424 receptions for 4,774 yards and 33 touchdowns. He’s rushed for 186 yards and another score. And he threw a seven-yard touchdown pass this season.

Darnold ranks fourth in the NFL with 4,153 passing yards and fifth with 35 touchdowns.

It’s been a breakout year for the former USC quarterback as he signed a one-year deal with the Vikings and was cemented as the starting quarterback when first-round pick J.J. McCarthy was lost for the season with a meniscus injury. He’s pushed through a slow start to his career while playing for two terrible quarterback franchises in the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers. His previous career high in passing yards and touchdowns were 3,024 and 19 in his second NFL season.

In his first year with the Vikings, Darnold became the first quarterback in NFL history to record 14 wins in his first season with a team and was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September.

The Vikings and Lions will face off this weekend as the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC is on the line between the two 14-2 teams.

Darnold and St. Brown just missed each other at USC, with Darnold leaving early for the NFL Draft after the 2017 season and St. Brown coming in as a true freshman for the 2018 season.

This is Darnold’s first NFL Pro Bowl selection. St. Brown has been named to three in a row.
