Four-star running back Deshonne Redeaux commits to USC

The USC Trojans grabbed another commitment from another local standout as four-star running back Deshonne Redeaux (Los Angeles/Oaks Christian) announced his pledge on Saturday.
The 5-foot-9.5, 180-pound back is the nation’s No. 143 overall prospect and No. 13 running back in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking.
Redeaux has dealt with some injuries during his high school career, missing some early games in his junior season and the back half of his sophomore year. But he’s been outstanding when healthy. As a junior, he rushed 180 times for 1,263 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also caught 14 passes for 131 yards and had a 98-yard kickoff return touchdowns. In his three-year high school career to this point, Redeaux is averaging 7.5 yards per carry with 2,202 yards and 25 touchdowns on the ground. He’s caught 23 passes for 183 yards and has two kickoff returns for scores.
“This is a school that I really liked for a long time,” Redeaux said of picking the Trojans. “I’m just glad it’s out there to the world.”
“You guys are getting an all-around back, a back that’s going to come in every play, grind hard, and be that all-around back that you guys need,” Redeaux said.
Redeaux cut his final list of schools back in February to Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, UCLA, Washington and USC.
There don’t seem to be many areas in which Redeaux struggles as a running back — though pass protection is always a question when making the jump to college. He shows good burst through the hole, can get to the edge against high school defenses and is decisive in his change of direction. He can catch the ball well out of the backfield and he isn’t afraid to initiate contact as a runner or blocker.

“You guys are getting an all-around back, a back that’s going to come in every play, grind hard, and be that all-around back that you guys need,” Redeaux said of what USC fans should expect.
This is another local recruiting win for the Trojans as Redeaux becomes the 20th overall commitment and 13th from the state of California. He’s the second running back commitment for USC in this 2026 recruiting class, joining fellow four-star back Shahn Alston (Painesville, Ohio/Harvey), who committed back in January.
Redeaux has some speedy track times to his name, having run a wind-aided 10.42 100 back on May 13, 2023. He missed nearly all of the 2024 outdoor season while recovering from that injury that shut down his sophomore football season, and he’s hit times of 10.78 and 10.80 this spring.
Redeaux joins a class of offensive skill talent that also includes Alston, four-star quarterback Jonas Williams (Frankfort Heights, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) and wide receivers Trent Mosley (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif./Santa Margarita), Ja’Myron Baker (Los Alamitos, Calif./Sierra Canyon) and Kohen Brown (Waxahachie, Texas/Waxahachie).
Redeaux has a built-in USC connection as he has a close connection with Trojans’ superstar JuJu Watkins from their youth and USC superfan Snoop Dogg helped him make his announcement. He’s also business-oriented and has his own clothing brand — OTSS.
