Nineteen USC Trojans took to Alyson Felix Field at Loker Track Stadium on Wednesday morning to participate in the Trojans’ Pro Day.

The highlight was the throwing session turned in by quarterback Caleb Williams as the Heisman Trophy winner still looks to have the inside track on becoming the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears.

But he wasn’t the only one working hard in front of NFL scouts, coaches and general managers.

Sixteen players from the 2023 USC roster, plus another three who previously played for the Trojans, worked out.

The participants included:

Defensive linemen Kyon Barrs, Solomon Byrd and Tyrone Taleni.
Offensive linemen Justin Dedich, Jarrett Kingston, Joe Bryson and Brett Neilon.
Linebacker Shane Lee.
Running backs Austin Jones and MarShawn Lloyd.
Wide receivers Tahj Washington, Brenden Rice and John Jackson II.
Cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace.
Safeties Max Williams and Calen Bullock.
Long snapper Jac Casasante.
Punter Aadyn Sleep-Dalton.
And Williams.

Here’s a look at all the measurements and testing numbers they posted on Wednesday.

Notable USC Numbers

The 32 bench rep numbers for all the linemen who participated were impressive. Kingston did 32 reps at the combine and pushed that to 36 at Pro Day. The 32 from Dedich would have tied for third at the combine. The 28 from Barrs would have tied Texas’ Byron Murphy for fifth among defensive tackles.

The 4.52-second 40 isn’t a great number for Washington — it tied Florida State’s Johnny Wilson and Washington’s Ja’Lynn Polk for 25th among wide receivers at the combine. But Washington’s game isn’t really about long speed. He put together a good day catching the ball from Williams and the quickness numbers are good. The 4.22-second shuttle was a tenth better than Arizona’s Jacob Cowing and the 6.81-second three-come would have been good for fourth among receivers at the combine.

Austin Jones posted some solid numbers for a guy who wasn’t anticipated to put up huge athleticism numbers. He outjumped Lloyd in the vertical by .5 inches and in the broad jump by two inches, and the 4.58 in the 40 is plenty respectable.

It’ll be interesting to see what the draft process looks like for Shane Lee. He showed up in unbelievable shape and it’s easy to assume he’ll ace the interviews. He’s an easy guy to root for and the numbers are fine. His 4.69 was faster than UCLA’s Darius Muasau at the combine and right on the heels of Christian Roland-Wallace. His 21 bench press reps tied the top mark among linebackers at the combine. Only three linebackers did the three-cone at the combine, but Lee beat them all with his 7.11 at pro day.
