While USC fans wait around all day for the Trojans’ 8 pm PT kickoff against Michigan State, here’s a look at what’s happening in Week 4 with USC’s past and future opponents.

No. 6 Oregon (3-0) vs Oregon State (0-3)

12:00 pm PT – Big Ten Network

It’s technically still a rivalry game but not being part of a power conference has really hurt the Oregon State program. The Beavers are off to an 0-3 start and have allowed at least 34 points in losses to Cal, Fresno State and Texas Tech. Oregon is rolling right now and should pick up a win here to set up a massive showdown against No. 2 Penn State the following week.

No. 21 Michigan (2-1) at Nebraska (3-0)

12:30 pm PT – CBS/Paramount+

This is a big one in the Big Ten between two teams that appear in this upcoming tough stretch of the schedule for USC. It’ll be worth watching how Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood continues to develop and what the Wolverines can do in Lincoln. USC is headed there in six weeks.

Purdue (2-1) At No. 24 Notre Dame (0-2)

12:30 pm PT – NBC/Peacock

USC’s first two opponents each won their following games after losing to the Trojans. Could Purdue make it three in a row? Notre Dame needs a win badly in this one. There will be some performance comparisons between USC and Notre Dame against a similar opponent in back-to-back weeks, though playing on the road after a long weather delay isn’t the same as getting the Boilermakers at home.

Missouri State (1-2) vs UT Martin (0-3)

4:00 pm PT – ESPN+

Georgia Southern (1-2) vs Maine (0-3)

4:00 pm PT – ESPN+

Every win for Missouri State and Georgia Southern helps in whatever potential playoff debate there is at the end of the season if USC can get there.

No. 9 Illinois (3-0) at No. 19 Indiana (3-0)

4:30 pm PT – NBC/Peacock

Here comes some game film USC coaches and players will be studying all week as one of the marquee Big Ten games of the early season takes place in Bloomington. USC travels to take on Illinois next week. It wouldn’t be a bad thing for the hype around that one if the Illini got a win in this one.

Iowa (3-1, 1-0) at Rutgers (3-1, 0-1)

Iowa won 38-28 on Friday night

The Hawkeyes scored 38 points, won by 10 and still managed fewer total yards than the Scarlet Knights. Iowa opened the game with a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown and a late Rutgers interception, trailing by three points in the fourth quarter, was enough for Iowa to finish it off.
