In my humble opinion, cardinal and gold thoughts on what I see, what I hear, and what I think from Los Angeles. Super C&G memories: The first Super Bowl, which wasn’t called that at the time, was played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in 1967, featuring the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. It was also the year that John McKay won his second USC national championship, a team which featured tailback O.J. Simpson, offensive tackle Ron Yary, linebacker Adrian Young, defensive end Tim Rossovich, and safety Mike Battle. Super C&G memories - Part 2: In what is now considered Super Bowl 1, the combined roster for the Packers and Chiefs consisted of former Trojans/Packers DB Willie Wood and Trojans/Chiefs RB Mike Garrett and QB Pete Beathard.
